Funding goals

The developers of Star Citizen have decided to fund its development through crowdfunding, which is essentially requesting contributions from the eventual players of the game.

Goals

There were two separate campaigns, a direct campaign by the developers themselves and a campaign through Kickstarter. The Kickstarter campaign had its own separate goals, and there were goals for the overall campaign.

The campaigns both ended on November 19, 2012. A record-breaking $6 million was raised overall and all of the funding goals were met.
