The Hangar module was released on 29th August, 2013. It is a pre-alpha version of the game that features a place for players to inspect and customize their ships.
As the player acquires larger, more expensive ships, they also aquire a higher class hangar. Three different hangar levels are currently available.
Hangar tiers
Discount Hangar
The discount hangar is the basic hangar level. It is available with the Aurora or the 300i.
Business Hangar
Business hangar lounge concept
The business hangar is the intermediate hangar level, for higher-spenders. It is available with the Hornet and the Freelancer. It is also temporarily available with pirate ships while the Asteroid Hangar is under development for the Pirate Pack.
Deluxe Hangar
The deluxe hangar is the highest class of hangar, able to fit any ship currently in the game. It features elevators to the upper level and a buggy to travel around.

The pirate hangar (sometimes referred to as the asteroid hangar) is an unreleased hangar designed for pirate ships such as the Cutlass or the Caterpillar.
Guild Hangar
Chris Roberts has talked about guild-wide hangars in an interview.
"Most definitely we're going to have a Guild Hangar. That wouldn't be free, but it would be something the guild would have to put together to own."
